گم ہوتی جا رہی ہے تحریر دھیرے دھیرے

تجھ پر کھلے گی تیری زنجیر دھیرے دھیرے

مجھ سے ہی کام میرے ٹلتے چلے گئے ہیں

ہوتی چلی گئی ہے تاخیر دھیرے دھیرے

بے رنگ ہو چلی ہے تدبیر دھیرے دھیرے

गुम होती जा रही है तहरीर धीरे धीरे

एहसास तुझ को होगा ज़िंदाँ का रफ़्ता-रफ़्ता

तुझ पर खुलेगी तेरी ज़ंजीर धीरे धीरे

मुझ से ही काम मेरे टलते चले गए हैं

होती चली गई है ताख़ीर धीरे धीरे

तक़्दीर रंग अपना दिख्ला रही है पल पल

बे-रंग हो चली है तदबीर धीरे धीरे

आँखों में एक आँसू भी अब नहीं बचा है

हम ने लुटा दी सारी जागीर धीरे धीरे

देखा है जब से उस को लगता है जैसे दिल में

पैवस्त हो रहा है एक तीर धीरे धीरे

आसाँ नहीं था ग़म को लफ़्ज़ों में जज़्ब करना

आई मेरे सुख़न में तासीर धीरे धीरे

All I could get from radio interview recording that he fell in love with urdu and particularly Ghazal during his college days. He worked for All India Radio and retired from there. He has published three collections of his verse.

Khat1 meN ubhar2 rahi hai tasviir dhiire dhiire
gum hoti ja rahi hai tahriir3 dhiire dhiire

Here is one way I could understand this. The poet/lover has just received a letter from the beloved in response to his own letter declaring his love. Reading this letter, slowly, a picture is emerging and the picture is so devastating that the writing in front of him is disappearing with vision blurred by a profusion of tears.

ehsaas1 tujh ko hoga zindaaN2 ka rafta-rafta
tujh par khulegi3 teri zanjiir4 dhiire dhiire    
1.feeling, sensation, realization 2.prison 3.revealed, apparent 4.chain
The poet/lover has just fallen in love and does not fully realize the bind he has gotten himself into. You will get the full realization of this prison/binding gradually. The existence of the chain around your feet will become apparent in due time.

mujh se hi kaam mere Talte1 chale gaye haiN
hoti chali gaii hai taaKhiir2 dhiire dhiire

It is I who has been postponing my own tasks one by one. This has caused a lot of delay little by little.

taqdiir1 raNg apna dikhla rahi hai pal pal
be-raNg2 ho chali hai tadbiir3 dhiire dhiire   
1.fate 2.colourless, drab, ineffective 2.scheme, plan
This is where fate overcomes effort/will. Fate is beginning to show its true colours. Every plan of mine has become ineffective little by little.

aaNkhoN meN ek aaNsu bhi ab nahiN bacha hai
ham ne luTa di saari jagiir dhiire dhiire    
The poet/lover has been shedding tears in sorrow because of unrequited love. He has lost all his stock/treasure/wealth of tears, none left.

dekha hai jab se us ko lagta hai jaise dil meN
paivast1 ho raha hai ek tiir dhiire dhiire    
1.joined together, entered, pierced
Ever since he has seen her, he feels as if an arrow has pierced his heart.

aaii mere suKhan3 meN taasiir4 dhiire dhiire
